Concept Artist / Graphic Designer, Underground Toys / Seven20, San Diego, CA
Underground Toys/Seven 20 is a global creator, manufacturer, and distributor of licensed products, showcasing the brands of many top entertainment companies across the world. Much of the merchandise include toys, collectibles, and home good products. Underground Toys was housed mainly in the United Kingdom with offices in the United States. The US office broke away from Underground Toys in 2017 and re-branded itself to be Seven 20. As the Concept Artist/Graphic Designer I created merchandise for their plush line, key chain products, and house ware items. With licenses such as Star Wars, DC, Harry Potter, and Doctor Who. For their plush toy line, I was responsible for creating the new iconic look for the 2018 plush toys for Star Wars and DC. In my role, I would draw out the initial sketch on paper then vector the image using Adobe Illustrator. Once each design was completed, we would submit them to the each licensor for approval. The new plush are to be released within the coming year and will be sold in major department stores such as Target, Walmart, and Walgreens.
Graphic Artist, Funko, San Diego, CA
Funko is a manufacture of licensed pop culture toys and collectibles through many product lines such as vinyl figures, plush, and apparel. As one of their Graphic Artists, I was responsible for creating dynamic poses for each of their Pop Characters to be on their new t-shirt line. I enjoyed creating ideas for these characters as I worked with many brands including Marvel, DC, Harry Potter, and Star Wars. In their debut of the new t-shirt line, one of my designs was selected to be a Funko exclusive item for San Diego Comic Con 2015.
Sketch Artisan, Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, Anaheim, CA
The Disneyland Resort is an entertainment resort with several lines of businesses that operate together to create a unique experience for their guests. My adventure through Disney started off in merchandise but eventually lead me to my ultimate goal for becoming a Sketch Artisan. As a Sketch Artist in both Off the Page and Wonderground Art Gallery, I was responsible for creating new and authentic sketches for the iconic characters of Disney. In this process I would collaborate with the other artists to design drawings to add to our portfolio of characters. After gaining approval with the licenses, these sketches would then be available for guests to purchase with minor customization. In my role, I was also responsible for creating an original “Sketch of the Month” to be the showcased drawing throughout the store during that current month. In the summer of 2015 I was also selected to design the Annual Passholders exclusive sketch for Off the Page in California Adventure.
